Ballinger Family Seeks Help for Medical, Living Expenses Amid Brain Tumor Battle

BALLINGER, TX – A local family is turning to the community for support after medical challenges left them struggling to make ends meet.

A GoFundMe campaign seeks to raise $20,000 for Tawnee and Gilbert Cavazos to cover mounting medical and living expenses.

Gilbert Cavazos was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor in his right temporal lobe, which initially caused vision problems and has since progressed to facial numbness, vomiting, and difficulty swallowing. With Gilbert unable to work, Tawnee Cavazos has become the sole breadwinner, leaving the family overwhelmed by medical bills, grocery costs, and utility expenses.

According to the fundraiser page, Tawnee’s medical insurance provides limited coverage.

“She’s feeling extremely overwhelmed and distraught,” the GoFundMe read.

As of Monday, the fundraiser has reached $1,110 of its $20,000 goal through 10 donations.
