Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office Issues Scam Alert

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office has issued a public warning about a phone scam targeting local residents.

The scam involves individuals posing as Sheriff’s Office representatives and falsely claiming citizens owe thousands of dollars in jury fees.

According to officials, scammers use sophisticated tactics to appear legitimate, including providing fake badge numbers, using names of actual law enforcement officials, and spoofing phone numbers to make the calls seem credible. The Sheriff’s Office stated that it does not solicit funds or payments over the phone.

Residents who receive such calls are advised to hang up immediately, block the caller’s number, and refrain from sharing any personal information. If you believe you have been a victim of this scam, contact the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office at 325-655-8111.
