HOWARD COUNTY, TX — A bicyclist riding without lights or reflective gear was fatally struck Saturday night on the Interstate Highway 20 north service road near mile marker 187, authorities stated.
Jerrison Moore, 39, was traveling westbound "in the middle of the roadway” when he was hit from behind by an 18-year-old driver, Joshua Eilenberger, in a 2001 Ford ZX2, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Moore was transported to Scenic Mountain Medical Center in Big Spring, where he was pronounced deceased. DPS officials stated Moore was wearing dark-colored clothing and was not using any safety equipment, including a helmet.
Eilenberger, who was wearing a seatbelt, was unharmed in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation, and no further details are currently available.
