2 Sent to the Hospital After 4-Vehicle Crash on West Loop 306

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — An infant and a woman were hospitalized following a four-vehicle crash Monday morning on the 2700 block of West Loop 306.

The crash happened near the westbound exit ramp leading to Knickerbocker Road. A Nixel alert regarding the crash was sent out by the San Angelo Police Department around 8 a.m.

Police said that the crash began when a Chevrolet 2500 truck failed to control its speed and rear-ended a Toyota Highlander SUV. The impact caused the Highlander to hit a Cadillac, which then struck a Jeep. The Jeep was able to leave the scene before reporters arrived. 

Police said that an infant and a woman in the Highlander were transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening.

The drivers of the Chevrolet, Cadillac, and Jeep were treated on the scene and released. The driver of the Chevrolet was cited for failure to control speed.

The crash caused lane closures and backups on West Loop 306, and another crash was reported nearby on College Hills Boulevard as traffic was diverted.
