SAN ANGELO, TX — A mix of rain, sleet, and snow flurries is forecast to sweep through West Central Texas beginning late Wednesday night, January 8, and continuing through early Friday, January 10.
The National Weather Service warns that these conditions could lead to hazardous roadways, especially on bridges and overpasses.
While snow accumulation is expected to remain minimal due to warmer-than-anticipated temperatures, areas that do receive snowfall are likely to see less than an inch. Light freezing rain or sleet may occur on elevated surfaces, though widespread icing is unlikely.
Temperatures will remain well below average, with highs struggling to reach the low 40s and lows dropping into the 20s. In San Angelo, today’s high is expected to be 40°F, with a low of 24°F.
Precipitation chances are highest tonight and into Thursday, with an 80% probability in Brownwood and a 75% chance in San Angelo.
Conditions are expected to improve by Friday morning as temperatures begin to moderate.
