Salvation Army Offering Shelter Due to Cold Weather

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Salvation Army in San Angelo will be offering its shelter all week for anyone looking to escape the cold weather.

Forecasts are predicting low temperatures in the 20s through Friday, with the possibility of snow on Wednesday.

Located at 122 W. 2nd St., the shelter recently reopened after extensive renovations. It operates daily from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m.

A Salvation Army spokesperson said guests are typically allowed three nights every 30 days, but the rule is lifted when temperatures drop below 40 degrees.

Check-in begins at 5 p.m. with a valid photo ID. Bag checks are required. Animals are not allowed except for service animals.

The Salvation Army relies on community support to sustain operations. For more information or to contribute, visit their office at 34 W. 3rd St. or their website at salvationarmysanangelo.org.
