Texas Walmart Employees in Pilot Program Wearing Body Cameras for Safety

DENTON, TX - Walmart has launched a pilot program equipping employees with body cameras at select U.S. stores to enhance employee safety.

The program is being tested in one market, with multiple stores participating in Denton, Texas, located about 40 miles from Dallas.

The initiative focuses on ensuring worker safety rather than preventing theft, Walmart said. Signage informs customers about the cameras, which employees are seen wearing while performing tasks like checking receipts.

“This is a pilot we are testing in one market, and we will evaluate the results before making any longer-term decisions,” Walmart said in a statement.
