AUSTIN, TX — Houston and Austin are among the top 10 most fun cities in the United States, according to WalletHub’s latest rankings of 182 U.S. cities. The annual report evaluates cities based on entertainment and recreation, nightlife, and affordability.
Austin ranked sixth overall, earning high marks for its vibrant nightlife, entertainment options, and outdoor recreation opportunities. Houston placed ninth, excelling in categories such as restaurants, dance clubs, and attractions, as well as affordability for activities like movies and drinks. Houston also scored high for its playgrounds and parkland per capita.
WalletHub’s rankings, released annually, assess cities based on 65 key metrics, including the cost of entertainment, variety of attractions, and availability of recreational facilities.
Las Vegas claimed the top spot, followed by Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, and New Orleans.
Several other Texas cities made the list. San Antonio ranked 25th, while Dallas placed 31st. El Paso, Fort Worth, Plano, Arlington, and Corpus Christi also appeared in the top 100.
