Howard College is pleased to announce the completion of two science lab renovations at their San Angelo campus. The new labs are already positively impacting the college’s ability to offer STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) courses.
The renovation has been a collaborative effort between Howard College and Angelo State University through a Title III HSI STEM grant that is shared between the two institutions. The renovations have allowed Howard College to increase the amount of students they serve in Biology and to implement Chemistry courses at their campus. Both labs have also been supplied with new scientific models and equipment to provide students the best possible lab experience. The approximate $398,000 of lab renovations, supplies, and equipment was completely paid for with grant funds.
Howard College showcases the new labs on Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Grant representatives from Angelo State University and Howard College administration will be in attendance.
