Angelo State Volleyball Earns No. 1 Seed in South Central Regional

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State volleyball team earned the top seed in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Tournament, which was announced during Monday's Selection Show.

The Rambelles will host the tournament Dec. 6-8 at the Junell Center.

This is the third time in program history for the Belles to host the regional tournament and the first since 2016, when they reached the Elite Eight for the first time.

This is the 16th NCAA Tournament appearance for the Belles and the 12th under head coach Chuck Waddington.

Joining the Belles in the field are (in seed order) West Texas A&M, Metro State-Denver, Dallas Baptist, Colorado Mesa, Texas Woman's, UT Tyler and Colorado Christian.

The Belles will open their South Central regional journey with Colorado Christian, which went 19-10 this season and made a run to the RMAC Tournament Final.

The Belles, ranked No. 7 in the nation, enter the tournament with a 28-2 overall record and a 15-1 record in LSC play. They have won their past 16 matches, the eighth-longest winning streak in Division II.

The Belles are coming off a weekend in which they won their 11th LSC Championship in program history, claiming wins over Oklahoma Christian, UT Tyler, and then-No. 5 West Texas A&M.

Match times and ticket information will be made available at a later time.
