AUSTIN, TX - Trooper Kyle Bradley of Texas DPS has identified over 20 trafficking victims in the past year alone, a commitment that recently earned him the prestigious “Be the One” Award at the North American Human Trafficking Conference in Las Vegas.
The award, presented at the three-day conference held from Oct. 23-25, recognizes law enforcement officers who have made a significant impact in the fight against human trafficking.
Named in honor of survivor and anti-trafficking leader Meghan Connors, the award is hosted by the Human Trafficking Training Center and Law Enforcement Training Academy & Consulting (LETAC) to celebrate officers who embody the impact one person can make in protecting vulnerable populations.
Bradley attended a training program at the Human Trafficking Training Center in Missouri last year, gaining skills to identify victims and traffickers. By incorporating these methods on routine patrols, he has been able to help rescue numerous victims and arrest their traffickers. In addition to his enforcement efforts, Bradley has supported at-risk individuals.
His dedication has also inspired fellow troopers, as Bradley has become a mentor within the DPS. This expanded expertise within the department has strengthened DPS’s capacity to investigate trafficking cases and bring more traffickers to justice.
