SAN ANGELO, TX — A car that ran out of gas on Avenue L was struck by another vehicle at about 3 p.m. Tuesday, shutting down eastbound traffic on the road.
The driver of the silver Cadillac that ran out of gas pulled over to the side of the road and turned on the emergency lights, according to a traffic officer with the San Angelo Police Department.
A grey Nissan that was traveling behind crashed into the Cadillac after its driver realized too late the Cadillac was stopped.
The Nissan's driver was taken to a hospital after complaining about neck pain. The injury wasn't believed to be incapacitating.
The traffic officer stated that the driver of the Cadillac did everything she was required to do after running out of gas, so the driver of the Nissan was the one who was cited for failing to control her speed.
