Over $1.2 million in mixed beverages flowed from the keeps to the customers of San Angelo's top 25 drinking establishments in August, contenders for the city's top slots edging one another out by an average $10,000 sales margin.
But one local bar had the clear edge in alcohol sales last month, pulling in nearly $113,000 in sales and distancing themselves from second place winner Twin Peaks by nearly $15,000. That top spot went to Fiddlestrings, located at 3303 Arden Road.
In third place, with a solid $87,105 in gross sales, was San Angelo's favorite sports bar, Shenanigans. The bar, located at 3250 Sherwood Way, features live music, fight nights and rotating daily lunch specials.
The top bar of downtown San Angelo is Blaine's Pub, grossing $59,486.87 is booze sales. Blaine's features a hefty line-up of popular Texas country music acts three nights per week, attracting a sizable, loyal crowd.
Below are the top 25 local establishments with a mixed beverage license, broken down by gross sales over the month of August. Establishments whose numbers were not reflected in the August report were omitted.
