ASU’s ‘Opera Under the Stars’ to Feature Outdoor Performance

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - The Angelo State University Opera Theater program will present its annual fall performance with a special outdoor concert on Friday, Nov. 1, at the ASU Pavilion next to the Plaza Verde residence hall at 1941 S. Van Buren St.

Titled "Opera Under the Stars," the performance will begin at 7 p.m. and is open and free to the public. It will showcase the vocal talents of ASU music/voice majors, who will be accompanied on piano by Grace Allen and Dr. Eun Mi Lee, ASU staff accompanist.

The musical program will include selections from multiple well-known operas, including:

  • "The Barber of Seville" by Gioachino Rossini
  • "La Boheme" by Giacomo Puccini
  • "Carmen" by Georges Bizet
  • "The Marriage of Figaro" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

The ASU Opera Theater program is directed by Dr. Mark Covey, assistant professor of music.
