Garbage Truck Load Catches Fire Along Loop 306

SAN ANGELO, TX – A Republic Services garbage truck caught fire along Loop 306 this afternoon, prompting an emergency response to extinguish the blaze.

It happened just before 2 p.m. between the Blumentritt Rd intersection and Wall’s Tractor Repair. 

Upon arrival, smoke was seen rising from a load of garbage that had been offloaded from the truck.

Firefighters were able to successfully extinguish the flames. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

No injuries were reported.
