Texas Man Charged with Murdering Mother

TEXAS CITY, TX — A Texas City man was arrested Wednesday night for the murder of his 68-year-old mother following a stabbing incident, according to the Texas City Police Department.

Jonathan Taylor, 30, was found at a Wendy’s on the 2800 block of Palmer Highway just before 8 p.m. on Oct. 9, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Taylor told responding officers that he had been robbed, but later confessed to attacking his mother, Regina McIntyre, at their home on Tarpey Avenue.

Officers were dispatched to the residence to check on McIntyre’s welfare. Upon arrival, they found her lying on the kitchen floor with multiple stab wounds. McIntyre was transported to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston by air ambulance but succumbed to her injuries around 10:15 p.m.

Taylor was taken to the hospital for medical treatment and later transported to the Galveston County Jail. His bond was set at $500,000, and he has been charged with murder. The Galveston County District Attorney’s office has accepted the charges.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the fatal attack.
