Septuagenarian Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle in Early

 

SAN ANGELO, TX— An elderly woman was struck by a vehicle and killed in Early on Wednesday.

A 75-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle in Early, Texas on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. She was flown to Hendrick North in Abilene where he eventually passed away from her injuries.

Information released by the Early Police Department says:

On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at approximately 9:10 p.m., Early Police and Early Fire Department, along with Lifeguard EMS, responded to the 100 block of Early Boulevard regarding a vehicle-pedestrian accident.

Emergency personnel found a 75-year-old female who had been crossing the roadway and was struck by a passenger car that was traveling westbound in the outside lane. The female was walking from south to north at the time.

The passenger care immediately stopped and two passing DPS units stopped to render aid until EMS arrived.

The female was flown by air ambulance to Hendrick North in Abilene where she passed away at approximately 2:45 a.m. The female was identified as Barbara Blanton Fowler, 75, from Clebourne, formerly from Brownwood.

DPS is assisting with the crash reconstruction.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic control during the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
