An Update on the Attempted Kidnapping in Broad Daylight

STERLING CITY, TX — Originally we were told a child may have been kidnapped in Sterling City. As of 8:45 p.m. the Sterling County Sheriff told our local law enforcement that it was possibly an unsuccessful kidnapping attempt. There are still suspicious circumstances behind the attempted abduction.

The Sterling County Sheriff's Office send out the alert at around 7 p.m. for anyone who may have video footage of this black SUV (pictured on this page). The sheriff said the attempted abduction happened in broad daylight between the hours of 2:30 p.m and 4:30 p.m.

We expect more information will be coming if authorities aren't able to find more information. The Texas DPS is also working on this case. As of right now, authorities are only seeking video footage. No persons of interest have been named.
