Angelo State Rams Shut Out Western New Mexico

SILVER CITY, NM — The Angelo State Rams' defense continues to make its case as one of the best in the nation.

The Rams went on the road Saturday and earned a 21-0 win over Western New Mexico thanks to a dominant performance by the defense.

The Mustangs were held to only 160 yards of offense, and they never even crossed ASU's 40-yard line.

Even so, ASU led only 7-0 at halftime and 14-0 until late in the fourth quarter.

The Rams' defense hasn't allowed more than 21 points in a game this year, despite an offense that hasn't given it a lot of help by scoring only 16.5 points per game.

ASU sophomore quarterback Braeden Fuller was 23-of-38 passing for 222 yards and two TD. He also had nine carries for 78 yards, including a 39-yard TD run.

Kel Williams had six catches for 70 yards and a TD, while Kyle Bradford had three catches for 38 yards and a TD.

The Rams improved to 2-2 overall and 2-0 in Lone Star Conference play heading into a bye next week.

ASU will play again Saturday, Oct. 5, against UT Permian Basin in Midland.

Western New Mexico fell to 2-2 overall and 0-2 in LSC play.
