Above-Normal Temps to Persist Through Saturday

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Residents in West Central Texas can expect above-normal temperatures through Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in San Angelo.

High pressure will dominate the region, keeping conditions hot and dry. Highs in San Angelo are forecast to reach the mid to upper 90s over the next several days, with only a slight relief in sight by Sunday.

Temperatures across the region will range from the low to upper 90s through the end of the week. San Angelo is expected to hit temperatures around 95°F on both Tuesday and Wednesday, with other nearby areas such as Ballinger and Brownwood also forecasted for similar highs. The NWS warns that while there is a potential for slightly cooler temperatures by the weekend, the chance of rain remains uncertain. Spotty showers and thunderstorms may develop by Sunday.

Today, September 16, 2024, the high will reach near 95°F with calm southeast winds around 5 mph. Conditions are expected to remain clear tonight, with a low of 69°F. Similar weather will prevail through midweek, with light winds and highs approaching 96°F on Tuesday and Wednesday.

While temperatures are expected to decrease slightly, residents should prepare for continued hot afternoons, with minimal rain chances until at least the end of the week.

The NWS advises that any rainfall will likely be scattered and not provide significant relief from the heat.
