Grape Creek Eagles Erase 27-Point Deficit in Win Over Bangs

GRAPE CREEK, TX — The Grape Creek Eagles pulled off a remarkable comeback Friday in a 38-27 win over Bangs.

Grape Creek trailed 27-0 at halftime before improbably exploding for 38 points in the final two quarters, while its defense posted a second-half shutout.

Daniel Anchondo threw a pair of TD passes to Braley Woods, the first of which cut Bangs' lead to 27-14 heading into the fourth quarter.

Woods also threw a TD pass to Angel Perez.

Sire Garcia had two touchdown runs and four two-point conversions. His 40-yard TD romp with about six minutes remaining gave Grape Creek its first lead at 28-27.

Grape Creek (1-2) will play at Colorado City next week. Bangs (1-2) will visit Abilene TLCA.
