Odessa Police Investigating Fatal Crash Involving Juvenile Driver

 

ODESSA, TX — A crash at the intersection of Yukon and Andrews Highway claimed the life of a 17-year-old passenger and sent two others to the hospital on Wednesday, Sept. 11, Odessa police reported.

Authorities stated that the crash happened around 5:30 p.m. when the driver of a gray 2007 Pontiac, identified as a juvenile, failed to yield the right of way while traveling west on Yukon.

The Pontiac attempted to turn south in front of a white 2017 Ford F-350 traveling east, resulting in a crash. A gray 2019 Honda, which was merging onto Yukon from Andrews Highway, was also struck during the crash.

Fabian Navarro, 17, a passenger in the Pontiac, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The juvenile driver of the Pontiac was transported to Medical Center Hospital with minor injuries, as was the driver of the Ford. The driver of the Honda was not injured.

The next of kin has been notified, and the investigation is ongoing.
