SAN ANGELO, TX — Showers and thunderstorms are expected to persist throughout the San Angelo area this afternoon, with a high near 77°F. The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch through Wednesday morning as heavy rain continues to pose a risk of flash flooding.

Tonight, showers are likely, with the possibility of thunderstorms before 10 p.m., followed by a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 10 p.m. Some storms may produce heavy rainfall, with new rainfall amounts between a quarter and half an inch possible. The low will be around 69°F, with east-northeast winds between 5 to 10 mph and gusts up to 20 mph.
On Wednesday, there’s a 45% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m., with cloudy skies gradually becoming mostly sunny. The high will be near 82°F, with a light east-northeast wind around 5 mph. Wednesday night will see partly cloudy conditions, with a low around 68°F.
Thursday’s forecast includes a slight 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., with sunny skies and a high near 87°F. Winds will be light and variable, becoming northeast at 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

Despite a decrease in rain chances later in the week, the saturated soils and ongoing showers continue to present a flood risk. San Angelo has already recorded nearly 8.7 inches of rainfall since Saturday.
