Angelo State Football's Season Opener Postponed Until Friday

HAYS, KS — After months of waiting to kick off the 2024 football season, the Angelo State Rams are going to have to wait a little longer.

Following multiple delays due to lightning Thursday night, ASU's season opener against Fort Hays State has been postponed until 1:30 p.m. Friday.

It’s the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

ASU is ranked No. 24 in NCAA Division II by the American Football Coaches Association. The Rams return nearly everyone from last year’s 7-3 team, though they have a new quarterback, sophomore Braeden Fuller.

Fort Hays State is unranked. The Tigers went 7-4 last year and return 11 starters on offense and nine on defense.

You can read our preview of Friday's game here, along with a season preview for ASU here.

We'll have a recap of Friday's game as soon as it ends.
