San Angelo Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on East Loop 306

SAN ANGELO, TX – A 20-year-old San Angelo man was killed late Saturday night in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on East Loop 306, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. on August 24, 2024. The rider, identified as Matthew Hansen, was operating a 2021 Kawasaki motorcycle.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Hansen was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to veer off the roadway and into the median.

He was ejected from the motorcycle and onto the pavement. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Judge Speck.

Hansen was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The road and weather conditions were clear and dry.
