WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Representative August Pfluger announced the relaunch of the Congressional Youth Advisory Council for high school juniors and seniors in the 11th Congressional District of Texas.

This "esteemed program" offers a unique opportunity for passionate and driven young leaders to engage with the government, collaborate with peers, and serve their communities, information from Pfluger's office states.
The CYAC is designed to "empower" the next generation of leaders by providing a platform to voice their perspectives on critical issues. Participants will have the chance to interact directly with Congressman August Pfluger, special guests, and senior staff members in up to four interactive virtual meetings. Additionally, CYAC participants will be provided special admittance to the Pfluger Youth Leadership Conference in Spring 2025 (Date TBD).
"I am thrilled to invite motivated high school students to be part of the Congressional Youth Advisory Council," Congressman August Pfluger said. "Our mission is to empower students to speak out and effect positive change in their communities and government. This program aims to foster dialogue, encourage civic engagement, and empower our youth to make a meaningful impact in our communities."

The deadline for submissions is Sept. 13, 2024. Applicants must commit to attending a minimum of three meetings, scheduled after school hours, subject to possible changes in the Congressional calendar.
