Ice Truck Catches Fire on Houston Harte, Igniting Multiple Grass Fires

SAN ANGELO, TX — A semi truck hauling a load of ice caught fire and started several grass fires Monday morning.

The grass fires were reported to have happened around 8:30 a.m. along the Houston Harte Expressway heading eastbound.

Then, just after 9 a.m., first responders were dispatched in reference to a vehicle fire at the intersection of Old Ballinger Highway and N US Highway 277.

It was there that the semi truck pulled over and allowed first responders to douse the rear end of the semi.

It’s unclear how the fire started, and no injuries were reported.
