Sheriff’s Office: Traffic Stop Leads to Major Drug Seizure

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A routine traffic stop by the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office resulted in a large drug seizure early Thursday morning.

Deputies discovered and confiscated over 500 grams of methamphetamine during the stop, which happened just before 2 a.m. on August 15, 2024.

The driver, identified as Antonio Leal, 28, of Abilene, was taken into custody and is facing charges related to drug trafficking. In addition to the methamphetamine, officers also seized cell phones and cash.

"The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office remains committed to keeping our community safe and will continue to pursue those involved in the illegal drug trade," information states.
