SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State men's basketball coach Vinay Patel closed out his signing class by adding junior forward Blessing Adesipe.
Adesipe marks the 10th new player the Rams have added into the fold for the 2024-25 season.
"We are very excited to add Blessing Adesipe," said Patel. "He is a highly skilled player who will be able to help our basketball team in a lot of ways."
Adesipe, a 6-foot-6 forward from Houston, joins the Rams from Division I school University of Texas at San Antonio, where he did not make an appearance for the Roadrunners in the 2023-24 season due to injury.
"His work ethic, energy, and effort are something we hope is infectious on our team," said Patel. "Blessing plays with high confidence and should be able to score both inside and out for us."
Adesipe started his collegiate career at Miles College in Miles City, Montana, where he scored 1,132 points in two seasons. In 2022-23, Adesipe averaged 21.6 points and 9.9 rebounds per game for Miles College and was named an NJCAA All-America Honorable Mention.
"With his size and athleticism, Blessing should be able to defend multiple positions for us," said Patel. "He has also shown the ability to rebound outside of his area. Blessing is a player for whom we have high expectations, and we believe his best basketball is ahead of him!"
He shot 41.8% from the field as a sophomore while also averaging 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game. As a freshman, he scored 15.6 points on 45.7% shooting while also grabbing 6.9 rebounds per game.
The Rams are coming off a season in which they went 19-11 overall and qualified for the South Central Regional for the second straight season.
