UPDATE: The Texas Department of Transportation has announced that the Super Heavy Load scheduled to travel through the San Angelo area today has been postponed until further notice.
According to TxDOT, the load has not departed from its port due to unspecified difficulties. As a result, all planned travel through the area has been canceled for the remainder of the week.
TxDOT stated that updates will be provided regarding when the load is expected to resume its journey.

The load, an "Upper Cold Box" used for insulating and protecting cryogenic equipment, is moving at a slow speed due to its substantial weight. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has advised that the load will follow a designated route, with the possibility of delays and disruptions, particularly near Sterling City on US 87 southbound and SH 158 westbound.
The transport is expected to create traffic congestion, as the load will be navigating the roads carefully, with potential issues arising during turns or other maneuvers. TxDOT is unable to provide exact time estimates for when the load will pass through specific areas but encourages drivers to plan ahead and remain patient.
