Traffic Delays Expected Due to 'Super Heavy Load' Traveling Through Multiple Counties

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Motorists in Concho, Menard, Schleicher, Crockett, Sterling, and Glasscock counties should expect traffic delays on Thursday, August 15, as a "super heavy load" is scheduled to travel through the area.

The Texas Department of Transportation issued a traffic alert today advising drivers to plan ahead and drive safely.

The load will follow a designated route that includes highways near San Angelo and extends through several rural areas.

Particularly in Sterling City, the load will "contraflow" while traveling on US 87 southbound and SH 158 westbound, which may cause additional delays.

Drivers are urged to plan ahead and drive safely.
