STAMFORD, TX — A three-vehicle crash on State Highway 92, four miles southwest of Stamford, resulted in one fatality and two injuries on Saturday morning.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that the crash happened around 9:20 a.m. The vehicles involved were a 2006 Ford tanker truck, a 2024 Volkswagen Taos SUV, and a 2016 Chevrolet Express box truck.
Madison Paige Stouard, 21, of Wichita Falls, was driving the Volkswagen and was pronounced dead at the scene at around 10:20 a.m. by Dr. Kavaspore. Stouard was wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.
The driver of the Ford tanker, identified as Cody Dixon, 34, also from Wichita Falls, sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was treated at the scene. He was also wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Bladen George Turnier, 23, of Fort Worth, was driving the Chevrolet box truck. He was transported to Hendrick Medical Center, North, with non-incapacitating injuries and is reported to be in stable condition. Turnier was also wearing a seatbelt.
According to the DPS preliminary investigation, the crash happened when the Ford tanker was traveling east on SH 92, followed by the Volkswagen.
The Chevrolet was traveling west on SH 92 when the driver of the Volkswagen attempted to pass the Ford tanker truck and collided head-on with the Chevy.
The weather was clear, and road conditions were dry at the time of the collision.
