SAN ANGELO, TX — The National Weather Service has released a forecast for San Angelo and surrounding areas and it shows another week of sweltering temperatures.
Highs are expected to reach up to 107°F by the weekend, continuing the above-normal heat that has persisted throughout the summer.
The detailed forecast for the coming days indicates that temperatures will remain in the low 100s, with highs around 102°F to 103°F through midweek. Winds from the south to southeast at 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph, will provide little relief. Nighttime lows will offer a slight respite, dipping into the upper 70s.
Today, temperatures are forecasted to peak at 102°F, with similar conditions expected on Tuesday and Wednesday. The heat is expected to intensify further toward the weekend, with highs potentially reaching up to 107°F on Sunday for some regions such as Abilene.
With the extreme temperatures, the NWS emphasizes the importance of avoiding heat-related illnesses. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and check on vulnerable individuals such as the elderly, sick, and those without air conditioning.
