Truck Driver Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash Near Lawn

 

LAWN, TX – A 75-year-old man from Clyde, Texas, was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Farm to Market Road 382, 4.5 miles west of Lawn, Texas. 

This happened today around 11:40 a.m.

The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that Monty Hale, the driver of a 2012 Western Star 490 truck tractor towing a CPS dump semi-trailer, was pronounced deceased at 1:02 p.m. at Hendrick Medical Center by Dr. Philpott. Hale was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Information states that Hale was traveling north on FM 382 when he failed to navigate a curve, veering off the east side of the road. He overcorrected, causing the truck to lose control and roll over toward the passenger side.

The road conditions were dry, and the weather was clear at the time of the accident. The posted speed limit on FM 382 is 70 miles per hour.
