HOUSTON, TX — Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, faced criticism from the Harris County Republican Party during her visit to Houston on Wednesday.
Harris, in town to keynote the American Federation of Teachers national convention, was deemed “not welcome” by the local GOP.
Harris County Republican Party Chairman Cindy Siegel expressed strong disapproval of Harris’s presence, emphasizing the Vice President’s lack of attention to the border crisis.
“Kamala Harris coming to Texas to speak at a teachers’ union event with no plans to visit the border is exactly what I would expect from her; it’s another example of her indifference to the real issues Texans are facing,” Siegel stated.
Harris last visited Texas three years ago as the “border czar,” focusing on El Paso’s border environment, according to Siegel.
Siegel highlighted that the border crisis remains the top concern for Texas voters and criticized Harris for choosing to address educators instead.
Siegel also condemned Harris’s role in what she described as a “coverup” regarding President Joe Biden’s cognitive health, accusing her of deceit and claiming it led to her ascension without a single vote cast in her name.
“Kamala, along with Joe Biden, has promoted policies that have hurt Texans and headed an administration that has been based upon lies to the American public,” Siegel added.
Harris is scheduled to speak at 10 a.m. today.
