The San Angelo Police Department and Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office recently made announcements about the event on their respective social media pages.
“Texas Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) police officers will be working hard to serve you and collect donations for Special Olympics Texas,” the SAPD’s post stated. “SAPD will be participating in 'Tip a Cop' this Thursday, July 25th, from 5-9 p.m!"
- Location: Texas Roadhouse at 3057 Loop Dr 306, San Angelo, Texas
- Time: 5-9 p.m. each day

The event is held at Texas Roadhouse this year. TGC Sheriffs and San Angelo Police Officers will assist the restaurant in serving customers and raising money for Special Olympics Texas.
The TGC Sheriff’s office held its event on Tuesday night and raised over $4,300 in the process.
“Thank you to everyone that came out to eat some amazing food at Texas Roadhouse!” their Facebook post read. “Just last night, y'all helped raise over $4,300 for Special Olympics Texas - Big Country/Concho Valley Area & Special Olympics Texas. Our community amazes us each and every year, but this particular day truly is close to our hearts as we cherish getting to meet and hang out with some of the coolest athletes ever!”
Special Olympics Texas is a year-round movement that provides sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
