Pecos County Crash Leaves One Dead, One Injured

 

FORT STOCKTON, TX – A head-on crash on FM 1053 near mile marker 384 resulted in one fatality and one serious injury early Saturday morning.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, this happened at 8 a.m. on July 20, 2024. The crash involved a 2015 Ford F-150 and a 2024 GMC Sierra.

The driver of the Ford F-150, identified as Donnavin Brown, 21, of Odessa, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital. Brown was reported to be traveling southbound on FM 1053 when his vehicle veered into the northbound lane. Upon taking evasive action, Brown re-entered the southbound lane, causing a head-on collision with the GMC Sierra.

The driver of the GMC Sierra, Nicholas Calloway, 25, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Braden. DPS officials confirmed that Calloway was traveling northbound when Brown’s vehicle entered his lane.

The crash remains under investigation, and no further details are available at this time.
