SAN ANGELO, TX — Blaine’s Pub is hosting a benefit for Carlie Jo Johnson today, an 18-year-old recent Central High School graduate diagnosed with acute leukemia.
The event aims to support Johnson’s fight against the disease and alleviate the financial burden on her family.
Johnson’s diagnosis has led to immediate and intensive chemotherapy treatments in Dallas, where they are having to live at the moment.
The benefit at Blaine’s Pub, 10 W. Harris Ave, will feature a variety of activities, including live and silent auctions, brisket plates, a 50/50 drawing, and a gun raffle. Cooking for Christ has volunteered to prepare the briskets for the event. Doors will open at noon, with the live auction scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. Plate sales will start at 11 a.m.
Johnson is now undergoing her third cycle of chemotherapy. Funds raised will help offset travel costs and medical expenses.
To contribute or participate in the event, contact Malia Sherrod at 325-340-7177 or visit the Facebook page “Carlie Jo’s Journey” for more information.
