ASU Belles Volleyball Receives Academic Award for 13th Consecutive Year

LEXINGTON, KY — The Angelo State Belles Volleyball team received recognition on Wednesday. The AVCA awarded the Belles with the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 13th year in a row.

According to angelosports.com, the award, created for the 1992-93 academic year, honors squads with a minimum team GPA of 3.30 for the fall and spring semesters. The Rambelles are one of nine squads from the LSC and one of 15 teams from the South Central region to be honored this season.

The Belles' 13-year streak is the second-longest in the LSC, just behind St. Mary's 14-year run.

Per the AVCA, over 1,400 collegiate and high school volleyball programs earned the award for classroom excellence during the recently completed academic year.

"We are pleased that the record-setting success of the 2023-24 season on the court has extended to the classroom, too, as evidenced by more programs earning the Team Academic Award than ever before," says AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "This is a great example of how committed our coaches are to helping their players reach their full potential as students and athletes."
