ARLINGTON, TX — Major League Baseball’s All-Star Weekend is here, and several players from the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers made the 2024 team. All-Star Weekend begins on Friday, July 11, and runs through the All-Star Game held on Tuesday, July 16. The game will be held in Arlington at Globe Life Field this year.
A total of five players from Texas teams made the All-Star team this season. Three Astros and two Rangers made the cut. The Astros’ second baseman Jose Altuve and designated hitter Yordan Alvarez were elected as starters, while outfielder Kyle Tucker made the reserves list.
The defending champion Texas Rangers did not have any starters elected for the American League, but infielder Marcus Semien made the team on the reserve list. The Rangers, Kirby Yates was also one of the pitching relievers who made the team.
