San Angelo City Council Approves Mural Project on Loop 306

SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo City Council unanimously approved a Multiple Use Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) this morning, allowing for a beautification project proposed by the organization “Loop Us Together.”

The project, set for the Loop 306 retaining wall adjacent to the intersection of MLK Blvd and 7th Street, will feature a mural depicting historic buildings and figures from the area.

Loop Us Together, which focuses on the economic development of San Angelo’s historic north side, will be responsible for all activities and costs related to the mural's installation and maintenance.

According to information from the city, the mural is the first of many planned projects aimed at beautifying the area, enhancing connectivity between the north and south sides of the loop, and “inspiring the community.”
