Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of San Angelo Man in Brown County

GROSVENOR, TX— A motorcycle crash on Brown County Road 105, two miles south of Grosvenor, resulted in the death of a San Angelo man, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

This happened on June 2, 2024, at 2:33 p.m.

The lone vehicle involved was a 2001 Honda Shadow motorcycle driven by Joseph Raymond Ogle, 48. Ogle, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Lee Haney.

Preliminary investigations by the Texas Highway Patrol in Brownwood revealed that Ogle was traveling south on CR 105 when he approached a sharp curve. Ogle applied the rear brake, causing the rear wheel to skid and lose control. The motorcycle laid over on its left side, and Ogle was thrown from the vehicle, suffering fatal injuries.

Weather conditions were clear, and the road was dry at the time of the accident. The posted speed limit on the road is 60 mph.

No other injuries were reported.
