San Angelo Sex Offender Arrested After Police Chase in Amarillo

AMARILLO, TX - A wanted San Angelo sex offender was arrested following a police chase in Amarillo.

This happened on May 24, when police attempted to stop William Forester, 49, for parole violations related to his failure to register as a sex offender. Forester was on parole after serving time for the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in San Angelo.

An officer who tried to stop Forester recognized him from a previous incident where he was a suspect in a hit-and-run case. Initially, Forester pulled over at a convenience store, but as the officer approached his pickup truck, Forester drove off.

The chase ended on Colorado Street, where Forester abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot. He was arrested and booked into the Potter County Jail on the outstanding warrants. Additional charges include evading arrest, resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled substance.
