SAN ANGELO, TX — A silver Cadillac ATS and a GMC Yukon collided near the old H-E-B in the 3300 block of Sherwood Way today at around 3:15 p.m.
According to San Angelo Police Traffic Officer Cade Solsbery, the driver of the eastbound Cadillac ATS made an “unprotected” left turn onto Arden Road with only a yellow arrow. The Yukon collided with the left-turning Caddy.
Solsbery stressed that the flashing yellow arrow means to yield to oncoming traffic when making lefthand turns. To have a protected turn, the arrow must be green.
Solsbery was not concluded with the traffic crash investigation when we left the crash scene so no tickets had been issued. The driver and passenger in the ATS and the driver of the Yukon were all rushed to Shannon ER in an ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

I don't even know the need for flashing yellow. When I learned to drive people all over the country knew that you had to yield in the left turn lane when the light was green. You were only clear to go freely when you had a green arrow. What happened?
