SAN ANGELO, TX—The original schedule for Angelo State's Fun Run/Walk, which is planned for this Saturday, April 20, has been changed.
Angelo State announced on Thursday, April 18, that due to expected inclement weather, the third annual Outrun Student Hunger Fun Run/Walk, originally scheduled for this Saturday, April 20, at Angelo State University, has been postponed to Sept. 14.
Additional information will be shared closer to the new event date.
Angelo State University is partnering with Howard College and the Tom Green County Hunger Coalition to host the third annual Outrun Student Hunger 2K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, April 20, starting at 11 a.m. at the ASU Mayer Museum, 2501 W. Ave. N.
Instituted to raise awareness of college student food insecurity, the event is open to students of all ages and the public. Participants will enjoy a non-competitive fun run/walk that will start at the ASU Mayer Museum, continue along the central campus mall, and end at the Houston Harte University Center. At the conclusion of the fun run/walk, a free lunch will be served and there will be several prize drawings, as well as various organization information booths.
The entry fee for the fun run/walk is a suggested donation of one or more non-perishable, shelf-stable food items. All donations will go to re-stock the shelves in the ASU Ram Pantry and the Howard College food pantry.
Located in the Houston Harte University Center, the Ram Pantry provides free non-perishable food items and toiletries to any ASU student in need. The food pantry at Howard College serves the same purpose for HC students.
