Old Ag is Reunited with his Aggie Ring

SAN ANGELO, TX — On January 30, Terry Campbell called us to ask for help locating his Aggie Ring. We are relieved to announce that Mr. Campbell of the Aggie Class of 1965 has recovered the irreplaceable momento of lifelong achievement and a token holding immense sentimental value.

Texas A&M graduate Campbell, 80, told us that he discovered the ring was missing after a trip to the Walmart Neighborhood Market at Valleyview and Knickerbocker. The clue that finally solved the mystery was Campbell's recollection that he had browsed the freezers where Marie Callender frozen dinners are stocked. Freezing temperatures change the fit of the ring with a finger, generally making the ring lose.

But it wasn't at Walmart where the ring, lose from the cold temperatures of a freezer, fell off his finger. He found the ring inside his own freezer at his house!

To any Aggie, the Aggie Ring is not merely a piece of jewelry but a symbol of pride, achievement, and lifelong dedication to the university. It represents the hard work and commitment of each graduate, making it a treasured possession.

When we talked to Campbell in January, he said if the ring didn't resurface, he was not planning on replacing it at his age. He and his ring had a good run together, he said. In today's inflationary times, a gold ring replacement would cost two arms and at least one leg. Campbell said at his age the cost just wasn't worth it.

Finding his Aggie ring was a tremendous relief, he said.
