SAN ANGELO, TX — Concho Valley PAWS needs help managing approximately 80 dogs from a single property.
"We must refrain from judgment because our first interactions with the owners have indicated that this is not a cruelty situation but rather a situation of good intentions that have gotten out of control," Concho Valley PAWS stated. “As PAWS begins to seek placement with local homes and rescue partners near and far, we need help from our community to keep these dogs safe and prevent them from being a burden on an already full shelter."
The owners, who have ensured the dogs were cared for and fed, acknowledged their inability to continue managing the physical and financial demands of such a large number of animals. They also said that they realize that they need to rehome these pets.
To assist, Concho Valley PAWS is calling on the community for donations of dog food and funds to cover essential medical care, including vaccines, parasite treatment, and testing.
It was reported that the animals lived primarily outdoors.
Moreover, the organization urges individuals to consider becoming short-term foster volunteers to help care for the dogs as arrangements for their relocation are made.
Donations can be made directly through the Concho Valley PAWS website at cvpaws.org/give by mailing a check to PAWS at 3134 N. US Hwy 67, San Angelo, TX 76905, with "SA 80" as the memo, or by purchasing dog food for the organization.
