RICHARDSON, TX — The Lone Star Conference announced on Wednesday, April 10, that Angelo State Rambelles Tennis player Eva Schwartz is the LSC’s Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
The Belles came off a huge 4-3 victory over St. Mary’s at home last weekend, where Schwartz was instrumental. Against St. Mary’s on Saturday, Schwartz defeated the No. 10 singles player in Division II (6-0, 3-6, 6-1) before she teamed up with Avery Durham to take down the No. 13 Doubles Team in that nation. Those two wins helped Angelo State secure a 4-3 victory.
Angelo State extended its home win streak to 15 matches after the win. Eva Schwartz is ranked No.59 nationally in Singles and No. 19 with her doubles partner Avery Durham.
Rambelles Head Coach Jason Pothoff discussed his team’s performance against St. Mary’s at his weekly press conference on Monday at the Junell Center. Watch that press conference below:
The Belles return to action this weekend when Angelo State faces off with Western New Mexico on Saturday, April 12, and UT Permian Basin on Sunday, April 13.
