SAN ANGELO, TX — The National Weather Service has issued a warning for residents in the West Central Texas area, indicating a "slight to enhanced risk" of severe thunderstorms.
The storms are expected to sweep through the region starting late Monday afternoon and continuing into Tuesday morning.
According to the forecast, isolated storms could begin as early as 3 to 5 p.m. today, with the main line of severe weather predicted to start around 10 p.m.
The storm system is expected to pass by approximately 5 a.m. tomorrow.
Residents should be on high alert for damaging winds and large to very large hail as the primary threats. The Weather Service also warned that an isolated tornado is possible and cannot be entirely ruled out.
The timing of these severe weather conditions is particularly concerning for the high number of campers and visitors in the Northwest Hill Country and Heartland areas for the Eclipse.
Authorities urge those in the affected regions to stay informed and be ready to take action should weather warnings be issued.
Residents and visitors are advised to monitor local weather updates and follow any instructions from emergency management officials.
