SAN ANGELO, TX — Reynas Tacos will temporarily resume serving customers to support a family battling a medical crisis.
On Thursday, April 18, Reyna’s will offer $12 taco plates from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Casa Rosa, 334 W Concho Ave.
The fundraiser aims to assist Natalie Salazar and her daughter Ari, who is battling juvenile Huntington's disease, a rare and severe neurodegenerative disorder.
Information defines Juvenile Huntington's disease and states that it affects children and teenagers, leading to a progression of motor, cognitive, behavioral, and psychiatric challenges.
The family is striving to prepare for the future, focusing on providing Ari with the best possible care at home.
According to information, the Salazar family suffered the loss of their oldest daughter, Khloe, who was diagnosed with the same disease. Now that Ari is confirmed with the same illness, the family is preparing for what is "inevitably their future."
A Reyna family member expressed the importance of community support, stating, “It's my honor to help a family in need going through the worst of circumstances. Help me support by buying a plate. If you aren't hungry, donate money directly to the family; if you are moved to volunteer and help me serve the plates or even provide some tortillas/meat/veggies to make this happen, let me know. God is with us in ways we can't always see, but I feel Him calling to help this family. If you feel the same, help me help them.”
