Phoenix Drug Traffickers at it Again, Half a Million Worth of Heroin Seized in Texas

 

AMARILLO – During a traffic stop Thursday on Interstate 40, the Texas Department of Public Safety yielded over four pounds of heroin valued at over $579,000.

According to a DPS press release, a DPS trooper stopped the driver of a 2005 Honda Accord, Isidro Del Real, 19, of Phoenix, who was traveling eastbound on IH-40, at 10:32 a.m. for a traffic violation near Conway in Carson County. During the stop, the trooper discovered three bundles of heroin inside the window cowling.

Del Real, along with passenger Alejandro Arredondo, 19, of Laveen, Arizona, were placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance over 400 grams, a first-degree felony. They were booked into the Carson County Jail. Officials said the illegal drugs were being transported from Phoenix to an unknown destination.
